Getting Started with WhatsApp Business Account


WhatsApp Business is a separate app from WhatsApp that allows you to create a professional profile for your business and communicate with your customers. The app is free to download and use, and it is compatible with Android and IOS devices. This document provides a step-by-step guide on how to download and install WhatsApp Business on different devices.

Installation Process:

  1. For Android devices, go to the Google Play Store and search for WhatsApp Business. Tap on "INSTALL" to download the app. For iOS devices, go to the App Store and search for WhatsApp Business. Tap on "GET" to download the app.
    • Registration Process: Upon successful installation, open WhatsApp to read the Terms of Service. Once reviewed, tap “Agree and Continue” to proceed.
  2. Choose Your Country: Tap the drop-down list and select your country to add the country code to your phone number.
  3. Enter Your Phone Number: After selecting your country, enter your phone number with the country code. For example, if you’re in India, your phone number might look like this: +91 12345 67890. (Pre-requisites for a valid phone number added at the end.)
  4. Tap Done to receive a registration code. If prompted, you can also tap “Call me” to receive the code through a phone call.
  5. Enter the 6-digit registration code you received via Short Message Service (SMS) or phone call.
  6. Access: The app lets you import contacts from your phone’s address book and access your phone’s media and files. This makes it easy to keep all your business contacts in one place and share photos, videos, and documents with them.

  8. Business Name: Provide your business name. This is how customers will recognize your business.
  9. Business Category: Select the category that best describes your business. This will help your customer understand which services & products you offer.
  10. Profile Picture: Choose a profile picture for your business. It could be your logo or any image that represents your brand business.
Pre-requisites for a valid phone number for registration process:

  1. You can only register a mobile phone or a landline (fixed) number that you own.
  2. Your phone number must be able to receive calls or SMS messages to verify your registration.
  3. Make sure you’re using a supported phone number. Unsupported phone numbers are as below: -
    • Voice over IP (VoIP)
    • Toll-free numbers
    • Paid premium numbers
    • Universal access numbers (UAN)
    • Personal numbers
  4. Make sure you don't have any settings, apps, or features that block calls on your device.
  5. If you're registering through your mobile phone, you must have a working internet connection through mobile data or Wi-Fi. If you're roaming or have a bad connection, registration may not work at that moment. Try opening the link on your mobile phone’s internet browser to see if you're connected to the internet.
  6. If you're registering through a landline, tap “Call me” to request a phone call to receive your registration code.
